The Stahl House
This program gave the World some of the finest examples of Mid Century architecture, and one of the most well known of these was Case Study House # 22, or The Stahl House.
Designed and built in 1959 by architect Pierre Koenig, a native of San Fransisco and a graduate of the University of Southern California, the Stahl House has become one of the icons of twentieth century architecture, featuring in numerous fashion shoots and films.
Built on the sharply sloping Hollywood Hills, the site was considered to be extremely difficult for building and construction, but the dramatic drop off allowed for impressive panoramic views of the city.
Today the Stahl House still looks directional and fresh and has deservedly earned its place in the history of modern architecture.
